NETHERLANDS – ABU REPORTS GROWTH IN TEMP WORKERS’ HOURS AND TURNOVER

The total amount of hours worked by temporary workers in the Netherlands grew by 5% in period 9 (weeks 33-36), compared to the same period last year, according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).

ABU divides the year into four-week periods, with the 9th period the most recently ended. This period had an equal amount of workable days compared to the same period last year, so no correction was applied.

Turnover among temporary workers grew by 6% in comparison to the same period last year. Meanwhile, temporary workers in the administrative sector saw their hours decrease by 4% and turnover also fell by 4%, compared to last year.

Hours worked by temporary workers in the industrial sector saw an increase of 11% while turnover increased by 14%, compared to last year. The amount of worked hours in the technical sector increased by 8% while turnover also grew by 8% compared to the same period last year.
